| Abstract: | We study the second order equation for Dirac particles in curved space-time. To first order in a W.K.B. expansion we obtain the non-integrable phase factor of gravity containing the spin-connections as “gravitational potentials”. A further term in the phase is considered which accounts for the effects of gravitational and inertial forces observed in diffraction experiments with coherent neutron beams (COW experiments). We finally use our phase factor to analyze the Aharonov-Bohm effect produced by an infinite tube-like matter distribution as proposed by Ford and Vilenkin. Our result is an agreement with the one obtained by these authors on the basis of a classical analogy. |
